Town of Montrose:  Located north or down Valley from Ridgway and Ouray, Montrose is the largest town in the three county area (pop. 17,200+).  With a growing retirement community, micro manufacturing, and year round enticing weather, this growing town is the gateway to the dramatic Black Canyon National Park. With the regional airport, it is a hub for the surrounding towns and communities.  Views are usually grand throughout the town and its many and varied residential areas.  Recreational options are many as Montrose is largely surrounded by BLM and USFS lands, as are most of the surrounding towns.  Values usually range lower for land and homes as compared to Ouray County or Telluride (San Mighuel County).
